Preview, capture and performance
Adjust the preview and capture its output.
Preview settings
Render > Preview settings opens the Preview panel beneath the top-right Preview settings button. That button also opens or closes the panel. Choose Dusk, Night or Studio for the sky look; Show gizmo toggles the transform helper. Changes update the preview immediately. The preview has no particle cap of its own: an effect emits what its own max_particles allows.
Skybox on the right toolbar (and Render > Skybox) turns the sky dome and stars off or on without opening the panel.
With Show gizmo off, "Gizmo disabled, click to enable" appears in the top bar left of Search commands; clicking it turns the gizmo back on.
Revert restores the last saved preview defaults. Save as default persists the current choices and closes the panel. If saving fails, close the error message and retry; the panel retains the draft and the previous saved defaults. Closing with the Preview settings button does not save or revert the current choices.
Shaded, Wireframe and Bounds change the display mode. Grid and Axis helper control viewport guides.
Environment lighting is exposed by Render. Collision preview toggles ground collision in the preview, including Showtime emitters.
Capture
Screenshot opens a save chooser for the viewport image. Record video opens the recording controls and their save workflow.
F12 opens developer tools and the app diagnostic console. It never takes a screenshot.
Performance
Profile opens PerformanceLine. Inspect performance while playing the effect or show you want to measure.
