Showtime snapping and ripple

Control editing alignment and how later clips move.

Choose a grid

Open Snapping from Showtime tools. The grid choices are Frames, Wintersky preview ticks (30 Hz), Seconds, Beats using show BPM, or No grid. Frame grid per second sets the frame spacing and must be positive.

Clip edges, Markers / breakpoints and Playhead independently enable snap targets. Save persists these settings; Cancel discards the dialog draft. Imported off-grid clip and marker times remain exact.

The Snap toolbar button or Timeline > Snap disables or enables all snapping. No grid only removes grid alignment; enabled target snapping can still apply.

Ripple editing

Showtime tools toggles ripple editing. With ripple enabled, move, trim, typed timing and insert operations shift later clips on sequential tracks. Tracks allowing overlaps remain independent.

Hold Alt during a drag to leave later clips in place temporarily. Linked clip starts move together across tracks. Trimming is independent; unlink first if ripple would otherwise move the same clip through its link.
