Showtime tracks and groups

Organize show tracks, control overlap and manage groups.

Add and choose tracks

Add track offers launcher, sfx, music, group and camera kinds. Enter a name, choose whether clips may overlap, then Add. Cancel leaves the show unchanged.

Open Track settings from Showtime tools to choose a track, or right-click its track row. The track dialog exposes Name, Locked, Allow overlapping clips and Parent group. Apply commits the fields; Close discards unapplied field edits.

Order and remove

Move up and Move down reorder a track among its siblings. Unavailable directions are disabled. These buttons perform their action immediately and close the dialog.

Delete track removes that track and its clips. Remove group keeps its child tracks and clips. Shared Undo restores these changes; review the button label and clip count before removing.

Groups and locks

Parent group assigns a track to an eligible organizational group. A master track cannot be assigned a parent. Groups cannot be placed under their own descendants.

A group can be collapsed or expanded. Select group clips selects clips in its descendant tracks and opens Clip actions. Group mute, solo and lock affect descendants.

When a parent group is locked, Parent group settings opens that group so you can inspect or change its lock. Reopen a track dialog after the show changes; stale edits are rejected.
