Textures and UV

Find images, assign textures and edit sprite coordinates.

Choose an image

Particle > Open texture gallery opens the image browser. Search and filters narrow the available textures. Choose the intended image for the active effect. Add folder indexes an existing image folder. Cancel keeps the gallery unchanged. If adding the folder fails, close the error message and use Add folder again to retry. If the texture index cannot be read, the gallery reports the error and retains its previous results. Close the message and change the search or reopen the gallery to retry.

Import texture opens an image chooser and imports into the active particle document. Cancel leaves the document unchanged. Import is connected to Undo and Redo.

Gallery folders and filters

All textures shows the indexed and bundled images. Folder rows restrict the results to that folder. Recent shows successfully applied gallery selections and distinguishes indexed assets that share a texture path.

Search matches image names, tags and folders. Kind filters offer Image, Sprite, Atlas and Flipbook; indexed classifications use their Library tags. Size filters use the longer image dimension: at most 16 pixels, 32 through 64 pixels, or at least 128 pixels. Choose All to include dimensions outside those bands. Card badges show actual width x height.

Name sorts alphabetically, Size sorts by the longer dimension, and Kind groups by classification. Thumbnail-size buttons adjust the grid without changing image pixels; adjacent sizes can produce the same column count when space is limited.

Apply or cancel a gallery choice

Click a thumbnail to preview its identity, dimensions and current UV overlay. Use texture applies the selected asset to the active particle and closes the gallery; double-click applies directly. The image assignment supports Undo and Redo.

Cancel or the close control dismisses the gallery without applying the highlighted card. If files share a texture path, choose the specific card to establish its identity. A locked Appearance layer or a changed owning document prevents application and reports the reason.

Edit and reload

Create texture opens the texture creation workflow. Edit texture opens the current image editor. Reload texture reloads through that editor.

Texture ownership follows the particle document. Save the relevant particle and texture assets through their workflows.

UV and animation

Texture & UV reveals the image reference, dimensions and UV settings. Animated mode exposes flipbook animation fields.

Static mode shows UV start and size. Animated mode adds per-frame X/Y steps, Frames per second, Max frame, Stretch to lifetime and Loop. Full mode removes the UV component; Undo restores it. Numeric editors provide exact entry, sliders and horizontal value dragging. Field Reset restores imported values, while Mode Reset restores the imported UV configuration. Edits, toggles and resets support Undo and Redo.
