TreeLine event inspector

Edit a selected event body and choose which trigger occurrence to change.

Name and occurrence

Select an event in TreeLine to inspect it. Name edits a top-level event name and updates references to that name; names must be nonempty and unique. Nested option names are not renameable through this field.

Trigger occurrence lists references to the selected event. When an event is used several times, choose the intended occurrence before changing Time. Selecting an occurrence updates the displayed time.

Time (s) retimes the selected timeline occurrence. Other occurrences remain unchanged. Enter an explicit nonnegative number; blank or invalid input reports an error without moving the event.

Creation, timeline and expiration move the selected occurrence to the corresponding emitter trigger. These controls edit the reference; the event body remains intact.

Children and weights

Children selects sequence or randomize for the selected branch. Converting to randomize retains the child data and supplies weight 1 where a child has no weight. If both branch types already exist, edit their separate containers.

Weight edits a selected randomize option. It requires an explicit nonnegative number and applies only to options under randomize. Clearing the field does not overwrite the saved weight.

Source fields and history

Sound event, Particle effect, Expression and Pre-effect expression edit their corresponding fields on the selected event body. Empty input removes that field. Other fields are preserved.

Use the edit control beside a source field to open its existing editor. Sound and sub-effect attachment dialogs provide Apply and Cancel; reopen them if the document changes before applying.

Inspector changes use shared history. Edit > Undo restores a committed change and Redo reapplies it. Scroll the inspector to reach the lower source fields.
